Wheel Throwing Taster Session

Service Description

In this session you will be introduced to the fundamentals of throwing pottery on the potter's wheel. You will learn how to centre clay on the wheel, bring up the walls, and shape the walls out into various shapes. PRICING At Neighbourhood, we use a solidarity pricing system in order to promote equity and diversity and increase access to pottery as a craft. At checkout, you will have the choice of 3 prices for this course. Please choose either "Low Income" for £40, "Standard" for £50, or "Pay it Forward" for £60 based on your personal circumstances. FINISHED WORK At the end of the session, you will choose up to 2 pieces which you would like to have turned and fired. You will also choose a glaze colour for each piece. Neighbourhood technicians will turn, glaze and fire your pieces, and they will be ready for collection a few weeks after the session. WHAT TO WEAR Clay and glaze both rinse out of clothes very easily, but wear something you don't mind getting a bit messy in. Also, please bring an apron if you have one. If not, we have spare ones you can use. NOTE: Participants must be 18 or over.
